Does anybody know the DC barrel size of a XE5300 mesh node? I know it is a 12V adapter, but would like to power it via a cigarette lighter plug or a 12V USB-PD plug. This would help me keep the battery backup power lasting longer =)

I found a replacement AC adapter on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/POWER-X20-X55-X60-XE75/dp/B01L0P9F4K

It's a 12 volt / 2 amp adapter and the adapter on my new AXE5300s are identical to my adapters from my 5 year old M9 Plus units except the newer adapters are shorter cables and poorer quality. It is either a 2.1mm or 2.5mm barrell- both seem to fit. I found one for an AXE75 on eBay where you can see the artwork saying the positive contact is the inside of the barrell and the negative is the outside. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334792904610

As for powering directly from DC? I imagine you could, there is a barrell that matches the tp-link specifications included with the DBPower car battery jumper I've had for several years, as well as with the generic DC/Cigarette lighter adapter kit I picked up a few years ago. Since the maximum draw is 2 amps, you could probably find a barrell to USB-A cable that would work.

@troy_s Oh thank you for all the great information! That seems to match the specifications of the router it's connected to also, which I've already ordered a USB cable for. It's at my friend's place, so I'll have to check it out this weekend when I go over.
