I'm in over my head. I'm trying to get a Wi-Fi signal from my house to the small office I use in my barn. The two buildings are about 400 ft apart and there is a metal shipping container that is just barely blocking the line of sight between the buildings. I've been using a Netgear Wi-Fi extender in the barn but the connection isn't reliable.

After doing some research online it seems like I should use a wireless bridge. I bought two tp-link CPE210s. I configured one as the AP and one as the Client. I watched several videos and think I configured them correctly. I've temporarily mounted the AP and Client CPEs high up on either building so they have a clear line of sight between them.

I use a tp-link Deco AX1800 for the router in my house. I connected the AP to the Deco with an ethernet cable. I don't know what to do on the Client end of the wireless bridge. I have a Netgear AX6000 Wi-Fi range extender and I tried using an ethernet cable to connect that to the Client. But it wasn't obvious to me what kind of setup I need to do between the two. Or if they are even compatible. Maybe I need to buy something different on the Client end in my barn??

What should I use on the Client end of the wireless bridge and how do I set it up?

One thing many get wrong about APs, extenders and Mesh is they place the units too far apart. They put it in the problem area. Much better to put it in an area with a strong signal so that signal can be carried on to the devices. Example: Try putting the extender halfway to the barn.

Also the more APs, Mesh units, extenders and routers in the area creates interference with each other which reduces the coverage.

And 2.4 is better for distance and 5 GHz is better for speed.

Setup both CPE210 in your house first to make sure they connect. The AP mode (not AP router mode) connects to the Deco LAN port via the PoE adapter.

Move the client mode (not AP client router mode) to the barn and troubleshoot for distance and angle. Set the distance longer if it needs a stronger signal for interference.

The Netgear is the EAX80? Connect one of the LAN ports to the client PoE adapter. Configure the extender in AP mode to broadcast the WiFi network from the Deco to wireless clients.
