Archer C50 Choking connection speeds
Model :
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I just received this new router today. Set it up according to instructions. Whether wired or wireless, I've only tested around <1-2MBPS for download speeds, although the upload speed has been consistently about as expected. My ISP provides 18MBPS (I'm in a rural area), and I test pretty consistently close to that when connected directly to the modem.
I have upgraded the firmware:
0.8.0 0.3 v005c.1 Build 160801 Rel.73434n
This is the hardware:
Archer C50 v2 00000000
I performed a factory reset after doing the firmware upgrade, no dice.
I had no problem hitting the maximum provided by my ISP on this laptop, previously, and as stated before, I can get that if connected via modem, but I can't even get to a half or a third of it whether connected to the router wirelessly or via ethernet. I am thinking this may be a defective model, contacting tech support was the next step on the flowchart TP-Link's site provided.
