TLWR841N Constantly losing connection to cable modem

I recently purchased and received a TLWR841N modem (V11) this week from Best Buy. I've updated the firmware to the most recent version ( 3.16.9 Build 151021 Rel.76995n).
My router is constantly losing connection to the cable modem. When I check the router the WAN light is red. I unplug and reconnect the lan cable and the connection resumes. Within an hour it will disconnect again.
I can hook up my old router and it does not lose connection to the modem.
