the schedule is stored in the plug once you have made on in the kasa app. but if you wan to control the plug instantly or create new schedule, the plug connect to internet at that moment.

confused with the description. do you mean connect TL-WA801ND to the WAN port of linksys router? You don't have modem now? Internet is coming from public Wi-Fi?

is this Dsl-6740u a TP-LINK model ? if the modem crash frequently, you can contact ISP to change a new modem for you as this one is not working well.

Is the wifi disconnected or connected but no internet access? Does your computer have IP address? Change the Wireless Channel and Channel Width of your router to have a try.
