TL-PA7017P is a wired only model. You should not expect any wifi from them.

@natevw Well it's not like the things need updates to keep working. And if a model is discontinued the likely reason is just that its features didnt sell all that well, but buying it won't hurt you....

If a problem like that follows the same adapter to different plugs and different cables then it sounds like a defective unit.
