As far as I can tell it's not possible to use the physical switch to trigger a scene. I'm guessing kasa devices can't talk to each other, but maybe future development would allow for this. I think this would be a great add.

Here is an example...

Room setup:
HS200 - smart switch controlling over head light (normal bulb)
HS100 - smart plug controlling lamp (normal bulb)
LB100 smart bulb in a lamp (power switch always on)

Desired results:
Physically pressing HS200 switch turns on or off all lights in the room

Requires:
HS200 to send trigger commands either directly to the devices or more likely to a web server hosting the scene (toggle HS100 and LB100)

Would be really useful to be able to have light switch toggle a HS105 simultaneously.

Hi Everyone,

Right now our Kasa Devices can not act as triggers for other devices, even if you use IFTTTT.  However you can setup goups and scenes for multpile devices that allow you using the KASA app to turn on mutple devices at once.

Best Regards

This feature is why I bought a smart switch in the first place. Very disappointing that it’s not possible. Any timing on when the feature will be added?

hi karl- is this functionality at least planned for near future? wemo devices allow triggers, but i would prefer to stay with tplink if can offer this basic feature.

ex:

hs200 smart switch turns on light.

ifttt trigger starts timer to turn off after x minutes.

It has been a very asked for feature.  We have provided this to our Smart Home division but at the time we do not have an update.  We will gladly make an annoucement in our Offical Annoucements section once they provide us with something.

Best Regards

Very keen on this feature also - is the reason I purchased the TP Link Switch only to discover it won't work as intended.

@Kar

No,  You can currently schedule a smart action to activate a scene but nothing about triggering a scene with a switch.  Typically once we provide a feature request to the R and D team we will not get an update until/if the feature is approved and annouced.  We have not heard of anything yet.

@Carl

I found this TP Link page that says you can control scenes with a switch that was updated October 2019:

www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2567

Can you confirm that the article is accurate and that you can trigger a scene from a switch?
