Local only
My smart plug says local only can not connect to alexa

I have 7 plugs, 3 work remotely, four are local Only. this is really frustrating since it seem to have been going on since '17 or '19.

@Carl has this been resolved? I've got tons of TP-link devices and the inability to control my plug remotely is a real problem.

As has been explained previously. The original issue with in this post were back from 2019 and were related to two things. One a cloud outage and 2 DNS settings. If you are getting a local only issue we recommend first setting your router's DNS to a public DNS like OpenDNS or Google's servers, power cycling and seeing if the issue has been resolve. If not please create a new thread detailing your concerns and what you have done to troubleshoot. This thread after this response will officially be locked as it is old and outdate and misleads customers to thinking its a longstanding issue that was never resolved.
