Smart Plug Lite Bricks ASUS Blue Cave Router
Smart Plug Lite Bricks ASUS Blue Cave Router
I've tried to add the smart plug light (HS103P2) to my network several times. Each time when I type in my network password on the Kasa app and the plug attempts to connect my network, my wireless drops off on all of my devices and I have to restart the router.
Anyone have any advice on any settings that may be causing the problem?

Our Smart Plugs are like any other wireless device so they shouldn't cause a router's Wireless to drop. However every router is different and ulitmetly the best option would be to contact Asus and see if there is something in their router that is blocking the smart plug from connecting. It is possible that the built in AV software is blocking the device, however we are not familar with other company products to be sure about it.
Best Regards

I'm encountering this same issue with the same plug and router! Were you ever able to solve this? I tried turning off the 5ghz network and didn't have any success. I should mention I'm running two blue caves as a mesh network using aimesh.

@jmb9 I am experiencing the exact same issue. I thought it was me!
The interesting thing is that an HS105 plug I bought 2 days ago works fine.
This sucks!

I chatted with support and asked that they pass it on the the senior technical staff. This is definitely an issue with these plugs and the ASUS Blue Cave.

@Dirkomatic I just got two HS105 plugs and it crashed my Aimesh setup as well. I'm using two Blue Cave routers in my mesh...

@Jiffyy Hmmm.... Very interesting.
I bought the outdoor plug KP400 and it connected just fine.
I bought some of the HS210 3-way switches and they killed the Wifi.
As much as I like the Blue Cave, I may have to pick up a different router....

I'm more likely to return the tp-link plugs rather than re-setup a new router with all my devices. Pretty disappointing response (non-existant) by tp-link.

Exact same thing is happening to me. Blue cave router. Wifi plug lite hs103 takes down my router. My to link light switches are fine.

@Linsook I suggest returning them. No support from TP-link.

@jmb9 I'm happy to report that I had success by factory resetting my Blue Cave AC2600, add all my HS103 first, then other appliances back on the WiFi. Very tedious process, but it worked.
