Turn off led indicator on smart switch
Ihavr the hs200 installed in my bedroom. It works great, but has an led ring indicator when the light is off. Is there a way to turn that off? Or switch it so the indicator is only on when the light is on? I'm a light sleeper and black out my room.
Also I'm not looking for hack solutions like electrical tape. At that point I'll just get a different switch that doesn't have an indicator.

This is now available in the latest firmware! At least for the HS220 dimmer. There is a toggle for "LED Status". Disabling this turns off the white circle, and unfortunately also the status lights of the dimmer level. But still. Great feature add! Hopefully coming to other models as I didn't see it on HS200 and HS210 that were on 1.1.5 firmware.
Firmware 1.5.11

Minus the hack solutions there is no feature that will disable the LED light. We have forwarded the suggestion to our devs as other eluded to your concern, but there is no new info if that feature will come out.

@Tony Please ask them to give some priority on this because I had to put a black tape on mine so I can sleep at night.
Thank you very much.

Thank you for your feedback.
I will be sure to forward your concern, and measures customers have to take for them to resolve it themselves.

I second this request. Please give an option to disable LED indicator. LED indicator is just too bright at night. I have multiple HS200 in many bedrooms and they all have black electrical tape on them to block the LED.

Greeting,
Not sure if any update has been put out since the last message on being able to shut off the righ light on the switch? As you can see below, we have two switches side by side and at night they can be a bit bright. They work great with the Echo and hope I don't decide to replace them beacuse of these righ lights. They also look like glowing eyes at night.
Nope, not adding electrical tape over them!
I am wondering if this can actually be fixed with an update or is it something hard wired?!?!

TP-Link, any updates on this? These glowing circles are too bright and putting electrical tape over them makes them look ugly and defeats the purpose of getting nice light switches in the first place.

All feature requests are sent to the devs for consideration to be implemented. We have not heard any news regarding this so as it stands there is nothing being worked on with respect to the LED lights so far.

@Tony Piling on to say this is by far my top feature request. My kasa switches are working great and are super responsive (much better than wemo etc), they would be just about perfect if we could disable this indicator light. For now I've covered mine in tape as well.

@Tony please add this feature! It's even too bright through a layer of duct tape. I don't want to have to switch brands, but this seems like a fairly big oversight. I won't be installing any of these in bedrooms again.

TP-LINK!!!!! Come on let's get this done already!!!! It doesn't take common sense to know that a on/off feature is needed.
I also vote to be able to turn the led on and off.
I also vote that this led needs to have a schedule setting. I would only ever want the led on at 5am-7am.
