Turn off led indicator on smart switch
Ihavr the hs200 installed in my bedroom. It works great, but has an led ring indicator when the light is off. Is there a way to turn that off? Or switch it so the indicator is only on when the light is on? I'm a light sleeper and black out my room.
Also I'm not looking for hack solutions like electrical tape. At that point I'll just get a different switch that doesn't have an indicator.

Dear TP-LINK customer care,
I am already looking to your HS110 for a while.
I am looking forward for the turn on/off led feature, I would have already buy if it would be available as I achieved an item of yours TP-Link TL-WPA8630P Kit AV1300 and am 150% sattisfied, that already ships with led on/off option.
I believe it would make sense to have this applied to all this kind of items as it is indeed very upsetting to have it on at night and not being able to turn it off.
Thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards.

I agree... This is a very frustrating thing that can't be turned off. tp-link does a lot of things really well, but there needs to be a way to be able to disable all lights that comes from switch. Are many people who any sort of light will be agitated while sleeping... Please make this a feature that this light can be turned off

@JohnWang Have you confirmed this 100%?
If so that is crazy for two reasons. For one it's crazy because that means its possible for TP-Link to do this via their own app and for two because that Watt app is only for IOS.

@DeeX I can confirm it works! It also means that Tplink could implement this very easily and just haven't. If you have an iPhone get the app and you can turn it off no problem!

Confirmed this works. Such a simple solution and the developers still haven't figured it out.

Ok, so this works but not on all hardware upon further testing. Seems like for hardware version 1.0 of the HS200 switch, the Watt app night mode does not work.
See below for my observations:
Model | Hardware Version | Firmware Version | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
HS210 | 1.0 | 1.5.8 | Works - Watt app turns off LED with "Night mode" enabled. |
HS220 | 1.0 | 1.5.11 | Works - Watt app turns off LED and dimmer LEDs (when top buttons are pressed) with "Night mode" enabled. |
HS200 | 2.0 | 1.5.7 | Works - Watt app turns off LED with "Night mode" enabled. |
HS200 | 1.0 | 1.2.5 | Does NOT work. Night mode toggles WiFi indicator light only. |
HS105 | 1.0 | 1.5.6 | Works - Watt app turns off blue LED with "Night mode" enabled. |

Can confirm this also works on the hs110, This is awesome and I wish I found it sooner... it's shocking tp haven't added this yet.
Will the leds stay off forever now even if you unplugged it? Can't get to mine to try at the moment.
