I see it's possible to NOT record audio as an option in settings.  However, the microphone is still "live" when you look at the camera's live feed on any device.  Is there any way to shut down the microphone altogether?  When I am adjusting the camera's viewpoint, the audio feedback is annoying due to close proximity.

There is not, you will need to lower the volume on your smart device.

Ah, OK.   Thanks.  Consider adding a "down volume" setting in an update, since I will likely have to return your cameras for privacy reasons.  Shouldn't be a difficult addition to the setup menu's, and seeing that most other manufacturers allow for audio to be completely disabled, maybe TP-Link should as well.

If you are looking at disabling the audio for recordings, then that can be done.  Go into the camera's settings, choose privacy and sensitivty and then select Record Video Only.

Hi.  Yes, I am aware of the being able to disable recorded audio, however, my priority is a camera that ISN'T listening to room tone at all.

Thank you

I agree with @tvmaster , I like your indoor camera and about to expand to more camera. But not having option to mute the MIC, I am reconsidering and looking to a different brand.

I hope u understand there are times, we may want privacy, not sure who is listening.

@Tony

Muting the smartphone is not a correct solution.

I'm very frustrated with this app.

Please, we need a real fix.

Yeah, I've given my GF and Parents access through the app on their phones and I really don't want them to hear when I'm doing some "research" on Pornhub. I know they could probably turn the sound on in their apps but I don't think they're tech savvy enough. C'mon TP-Link, this is and easy addition and would be greatly appreciated. Almost a dealbreaker for me. Cheers

After spending weeks researching home 1080p security cameras, I decided to give the TP-Link Kasa Cam a try.
