@Stevo77

Not when one is wanting you check in on one's folks living in one's living room while one is at work, and one can't install the Android emulator to then install the KASA app because one has no admin privies (enough one's for one?).

@alderdice.shane

I would recommend emailing your case number to support@tp-link.com and ask them to investigate

@Carl I am glad you cleared up that cloud does not include PC's. I can cancel my next infrastructure rollout in "Cloud" that I plan to spend 700 million on. Although I am a little upset with the 365 million deployment I just completed. And thank you for letting me know that cloud only includes access for phones. Man that clears up a lot for me.

@Majarspeed

If you are outside of the US look at the Tapo Product line.  that product line's cameras do offer PC access to the RSS feed of the camera to veiw the live streaming.  Recordings and management would still be through the app but they do offer PC streaming for the RSS.  The Kasa Line was not designed with this in mind, though I would not rule it out.  Now that our Tapo and Kasa lines are developed by the same team I wouldn't rule out RSS feed viewing for future deployments, just that i can't say when if it does come out.

What if I don't want my video going to the cloud at all.  Can I not bypass the cloud and just store the video feed locally at all?

@Carl this is your best solution? Maybe forward these support requests to someone who cares about their customer's feedback instead of recommending another of your products. Why should we spend more money for features that would be easy to implement?

@Hi_Hello_Hey81

Yes this is the only solution.  It has nothing to do with not caring about customer feedback.  Every request is sent up to the product design team.  Some features do get added, and some don't. Its possible this may eventually be brought to the line, but the simple fact about this is that the Kasa line was never designed with PC streaming in mind.  The whole product line was built around the App.  The Tapo line however does have the requested feature that is why it was suggested.

@Spragie

We specifically have models that allow for local storage via a Micro-SD card.  With these cameras the stream is still only viewable via the app but you can record locally instead of to the cloud.

@FrankJJ couldn't find it mentioned in this thread, and understandably a long time later, but another alternative to an android emulator is outlined is RSTP web stream. Information here: https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/faq/2680/

I stumbled on this thread trying to view my C200 stream on my desktop. I found the RSTP config setup on the FAQ and VLC player in a few minutes.

This might help someone else that lands here.

Well my cameras are randomly no longer responding and no longer connect to wifi. the order of which is the same as when I purchased them. I purchased two then another two a month later. Last month two stopped completely and now waiting for the others to just fail. I had purchased two new ones and they connect to wifi with no problems. The help desk send me usual fault finding crap but I follow same process and only the old ones never ever connect to wifi anymore.
