Tp link hs 200 not powering up when connected to switch outlet
Hi! We just purchased the hs200 switch and attempted to connect it to our old light switch! We did everything as instructed but the hs200 switch fails to light up or power up! Also when we wire up the hs200 the lights in the other rooms also fail to light up as well! At first we thought it was a problem with our electrical system but when we reconnected our old switch it worked as per normal. Then we thought it was a problem with the one we bought ... so we returned it and got a new one ... same thing happening ! Our house was just built in December so it seems to have all the capacities for this but we just can't figure out why it's not working!
please advise! Thanks for your help!

The black wire you marked as ground is not the ground, it is the Common/Line that needs to stay connected with the black wire that was next to it.
The other black wire on the switch is the Load.
The ground is the bare wire in the box that is connected to the green screw.

The two black wires tagged as #1 go to one of the HS200 black leads.
The one black wire tagged #2 goes to the other black lead of the HS200.
The HS200 white wire goes together with the white wires under the orange wirenut.

Can you post a picture of both sides of the old switch wiring, and a picture of the wiring in the wall box?
