I have a pair of these I put in a hallway. Setup goes well, including the linking of the two switches. That's where it stops. After just a couple of on/off cycles, the secondary switch loses its connection to the primary. The WiFi symbol appears and alternates red and orange.  

Should be noted that I have a Nest WiFi mesh, and these switches sit between two of the points, each is close to a different point.

Any suggestions on how to fix? I thought about pulling one and putting in a standard 3-way switch.
