Can I use this switch to turn on heat tape that is on the roof? Timer switch is located in my garage.

If the voltage and amperage are blown the supported specs it might work as it has not been actually tested.

What you can also do is contact the heat tape manufacturers to see if they have seen their product work before with smart switches.
