WIFI SIGNAL WHEN TURNED OFF?
WIFI SIGNAL WHEN TURNED OFF?

Model: Archer A10
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

My model is an Archer 7, not on the list, version A.5. When I turn off the wifi on the back of the A7, it still puts out a very strong wifi signal called (Hidden Network).

I try to connect to it, it won't accept the password. When I turn off the A7, the signal (hidden network) is no longer there. It still puts out wifi when it's supposed to be turned off. That concerns me, am I being spyed upon? Anyone here notice that issue? With all the hacking going on and (made in china) brand, is there a back door for those to gain access to your privacy?

The hidden network has to do with the Archer A7 and OneMesh which has a highly secured randomized password. It is only accessible from an OneMesh device, and not to any wireless client.

It allows you to connect some routers and extenders to the router to make a Mesh system.

Thanks. Does it allow a 3rd party to hack into your wifi system? All I know is I turned off the wifi on the back of the router yet it still sends out a wifi signal. Is it secure? Or a opening for hackers to gain access?

No, in reference to post #2 it is a secured network that only TP-Link OneMesh devices can connect to.
