We know that we can turn on the smart switches at sunset and off at sunrise even with offset time (Ok well with allmost all smart plugs) , the idea to have a smart ligth sensor is to turn the ligth on when it's a rainy day or a smorty day and the sunset has not occur yet.

The idea is simple configure the sensor to be on or off based on a ligth threshold and have a routine that checks the switch on or off, sounds simple but not imposible One way to do it is to override the sunset or the sunrise time on your account based on the ligth sense so it is says turn the ligth at sunset with an offset of 20 minutes and the normal sunset of your area is let's say 6:00 PM then at 5:40 PM the ligth turn on, well so if there is raining at 2:00 pm and your house gets dark a level x then overide the the sunset time threshold, and if goes back to a another level due that rain stop and clear skies occur a hr later then overide sunset threshold back to original value you set as default. (The app should be able to keep track of your based offset times)

Can not a simple Ligth sensor that you can monitor the levels of ligth from the app to define so the app threshold change can be done?  Smart thinking!

Furthermore a plug ligth sensor can be place in diferent places of the house like first floor or second floor etc. and have aftect some switches and not others. $$$$

The interesting issue is to create a ligth sensor that works inside that is not affected by the lamp ligths, or placed it on a area where the normal ligth is always in a shade  or to create one that to face the outside ligth from a window and plug nearby but that is not affected by lightning storm. so delays have to be build with in the sensor.  Just an idea! or have the ligth sensor to have only one single level in a 24 hr time fram, meaning you change the Threshold only once per day this will affect the situation the storm ends before the sunset.

Well hopfully this will invite other ideas.
