What is the purpose of using the jumper on the existing chime in my home?

Can this doorbell use home chime vs. chime included with packaging?

Can additional chimes be ordered so as to hear notifications on multiple levels of home?

The Jumpers essentially loop the circuit to disable to existing chime. The Smart Doorbells cannot be used with an existing chime so the provided plug-in chime will need to be used.
