The short answer in no, you can't.

These router models have different features and settings - that's the main reason for this incompatibility in the backup files.

The simplest method for doing this is to make some notes on old device settings (copy/paste in notepad for example) and propagate these into the new device.

This procedure would be best to execute in the devices WebGUI.
