The latest update for the Tapo app includes new features and an entirely redesigned interface optimized for tablets and large screens. Feel free to comment with any suggestions, ideas, or questions for our teams.

We look forward to hearing your feedback on the latest additions!

The update has already begun rolling out, so make sure your Tapo App is up to date from your app store. Please note that the update is being gradually rolled out, so some accounts or devices may need to wait slightly longer to see it. There were no significant updates to the mobile interface.

🪟 Streamlined Views for Smarter Home Control

  @Riley_S Do we now have notifications sent to our tablet or phone by the app when the camera loses it's power or wifi link?

  @Roy4345,

Unfortunately, we only have official app support for Apple's iOS App Store and for the Google Play Store. On some Android phones, it is possible to use both the default app store and the Google Play Store. However, compatibility cannot be confirmed as there may be requirements that cannot be met or are not available when done this way.

  @SmartUserTech,

I believe that there are still widgets but I truthfully did not check. There was a recent update for iOS to iOS18 that removed the type of widgets used by the Tapo and Kasa Apps. Our teams have already pushed an official update bringing widgets up-to-date, so make sure that you are using the latest update to the Tapo app.

  @Riley_S thank you. App is now update (the support page still needs to be updated). Yes there are the new kind of widgets but the Tapo app on iPad doesn't have the options to input the devices to them. Not that I can find. Can you please find out exactly how we get widgets assigned up for a Tapo device. Again, the instruction page lacks the necessary info to use them, same with the in-app info. See attached and other screenshots I'm posting
