Desire for Tp-Link/Deco to address the usage of Moca Adaptors.  Which Deco products support 2.5? Is usage limited to back haul.  Do's and don't.  Thank you Duke

  @DrKahanamoku,

We support them as they are technically just another network device, however your experience for MoCA will be limited due to the technology and more inefficient connections. After the main Deco, each Deco node is a "Client of the Main Node" meaning it is operating very similarly to any other connected to the network, the Deco just has the ability to rebroadcast the mesh signal. This is how switches, CPEs, Powerline Connections, and MoCA connections are able to forward their backhaul.

There are a few other users who have used MoCA adapters and you should try to find their experiences here and on our subreddit. But our team does not normally recommend them unless they are absolutely necessary or are a possible replacement for Powerline Connections.

I believe that all the Deco models support 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz as their main frequencies, with more recent or higher-end models adding additional or 6GHz bands.

Your Deco will use all of the available bands on the device to build its backhaul, meaning it can use 2.4 but will also attempt a 5GHz connection if stable.'

I will specifically mention one risk: depending on how your adapters function, there is a real possibility of having difficulties with your guest network's VLAN tag. This has been seen on some network switches that will forward the tag along with the rest of the data.
