Widgets are not working for me on iOS18. This is not a "legacy" widget problem mentioned in some other threads because I just set up my camera a month ago and I am now trying to set up widgets for the first time.

When I add the widget from the iOS home screen, the widget says, "Sign in to Tapo to use this widget." But I'm already signed in! I've tried signing out and signing back in. I've tried restarting the phone. No matter what happens, I get this message. If I click on the widget and select "edit widget" then "add item," the menu is blank. I do have shortcuts in the app that should be showing up here, and yes, I specifically added the shortcuts widget.

Meanwhile, if I go into the app, and I go to "Me" then "Widgets," no widgets appear and I do not even get the menu shown in the help page (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3313/). I get an explanatory screen where the only options are to go back and a big button saying "how to use," which is just more explanation.

Help! Thanks.

@Riley_S Thanks for the response. I removed the app, restarted the phone, and re-downloaded. That did the job; I was able to add the widget from the home screen. When I went to "Me" then "Widgets," the same problem persists, but as long as you can add the widget one way, that should do for now.

Thanks  @TC123,

You definitely stumbled on a bug. Our teams are aware of this behavior and are working on a fix, but it looks like they are still tracing a root cause. If you would like to help out, you can gather the app logs and send them to the development team directly via the feedback feature in the Tapo App.

We have seen success in getting the widgets working if you try to uninstall the Tapo App, reboot their phone, and then reinstall and log into the Tapo App.
