Model: Tapo C720
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 3.8.115

I have 4 Tapo cameras. A C120, a C720, and 2 TC 55. They are all doing the same thing. When I select "playback and download", it says "no recordings", when in fact there were several there just a few hours ago. My app verion is 3.8.115 installed on my Samsung android phone. Each camera has a new SD card and indicates "good" on device info. I just recently installed these cameras and am still learning how to use them. No doubt I am missing something that I need to know. Any help?? Thanks

For each camera you will need to go into the camera's settings and go to Storage and Recording.  In this menu the first option is a rocker button for Local Recording.  Make sure that is turned on. Once it is the two TC55 cameras will display recordings when ever detection is captured.  For the two wire-powered cameras a timeline will appear and below it calls outs for times when dectections are captured will be displayed.

  @Carl

Thanks for the reply.

The 3 hardwired C720 and TC55s, are mounted outside. I have temporarily turned off the power to the TC55s to simplify my troubleshooting., so I am looking at just the C720 and the C120.

The C120 is located in a remote storage area inside.

All have "local recording" toggled on

When I can see the recordings, I can see the timelines, but since all recordings have disappeared, I have no timelines. However, when I select "playback/download", a timeline flashes momentarily before it displays "no recordings".

The local storage of the C720 SD card is showing 614.4 mb/ 13.80 gb, so plenty of room on the SD cards.

Because of snow setting off constant alerts, I have turned off motion detection and set them all for AI pets, people, and vehicles.

On the live screen there is a display: 01/36, which I interpret to mean that there have been 36 recordings. But when I advance it to anything beyond 1, it shows a plus sign in he middle of the sceen. If I select that, I get a screen labeled "Add Camera", and 2 images are displayed, 1 for the C120 and one ofr the C720, labeled "previewing" in shaded text.

I have turned off loop recording just to see if it helps-- Not.

Sorry for all the verbage here-- bottom line-- no recordings.

I can't think of anything else to tell you.

I am baffled-- Any more ideas?

Thanks

Carl,

I think that I may have figured this out.

I discovered a date just below the image screen in playback mode.

I can tap on the date and open a calendar where my saved files are.

Takes this 86 year old disabled Vietnam veteran a while to figure out this modern stuff!!

Thanks for your help.
