Urgent: Requesting Help Preserving Tapo Camera Footage (Account Inaccessible)

Hi Community,
We are seeking urgent help. A Tapo camera belonging to a deceased family member may contain critical footage related to a possible death involving foul play. Unfortunately, we do not have access to the phone or TP-Link account associated with the camera.
Does anyone know the correct process to request access or place a hold on the footage so it is not automatically deleted?
Any guidance would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you.

In general, preservation requests can only be processed with a court order. Preservations are only possible for 30 days of recordings from the time the preservation order is received. You can email LE.Legal@tp-link.com to have such a preservation order submitted.

TP-Link does not have the ability to preserve recordings beyond the 30 days that the cloud service allows. TP-Link Cloud accounts are not bound to a specific device. You can install the app and sign into the account on any compatible Android or iOS device. The TP-Link Cloud account is universal so if you used the same account as here on the community then just sign in with those credentials to gain access to the account, devices and recordings. If its a diffrent ID and you don't remember the password, but know the email address you can reset the password to gain access.

@Carl Thanks the problem is we don't have access to the decreased persons account or phone and TP Link should provide (or are legally required to provide) a process to request this footage not be deleted
