I access my Wi-Fi settings and notice the TP Link smart dimmer listed. When I try to connect, it shows an error indicating there's an issue with authenticating the connection between my phone and the device. I've rebooted both the router and the switch, but I'm still unable to establish a connection.

Are you still setting the device up? 

 

The Wi-Fi found in your list of nearby networks is used only for setup. The Tapo app should handle the connection to this network during the setup process.

Use the (+) Add Device Menu in the Tapo App to configure the device and add it to your home wi-fi.

 

This network is only for setup, as it cannot be used to control the device and has no connection to the internet. Oftentimes, mobile phones will not want to connect to the network, or will connect you to your cellular network, since it has no internet access.
