I only have a couple of recordings from the entire day, and only from one camera. I can see them lighting up like they are recording, and I can live view, but nothing is being loaded to the cloud storage. No local storage. What is going on?

Hey  @Kingnutin,

There was a widespread outage affecting Amazon's AWS Servers. This outage lasted for quite a long time and impacted a large number of services and devices - beyond just Tapo and TP-Link.

If you experienced any abnormal or unexpected behaviors, difficulty setting devices up, or even trouble logging in, it was likely a result of this outage. During this outage, any recordings intended for the cloud would not have been saved. This is always the case with cloud-based recordings, No Internet Connection = No Recording.

In the post below, I give a few tips on what can be done to provide failsafes - whether that be recording to a local hub or SD Card, or extends to setting up a full third-party NVR System.

Our team has released a post with additional details and a link to the official landing page detailing the impacted services from the outage:

@Riley_S thank you, that explanation makes sense. I will look into local storage for this sort of thing. I was considering the smart hub anyway.
