I bought these bulbs because the Amazon page said they support Matter, but I was a bit worried because Matter isn't in the description.
Well, I got the bulbs (I ordered two 4-packs), and I've installed one and sure enough, there is nothing to indicate Matter support, either on the box or in the app for the bulb.
Or am I doing something wrong? Is there an update I need (I don't see any updates in the app?)
Tapo L530E does not support Matter. You should look for the Tapo L535E instead.
Could you share the purchase link you used? It’s possible you selected a different model option, one that does not support Matter.
@Wayne-TP Support has already replied to my email with the same info. I used the Amazon link, https://a.co/d/afGeFtR. While Matter is not listed in the description, if you click on the "See differences" (right below the main picture, next to the Model info, you'll see that the first one claims it supports Matter. That is the L530E that I ordered and spoke about, and clearly that is incorrect. 🥺
I like the Tapo bulbs and app, especially the energy monitoring, but there are other Matter-enabled bulbs that are considerably less (upwards of ±50%) cheaper, so sadly I'm going to order some of those instead.
