I picked up two additional HS300s and after trying to get them set up, they consistently disconnect from the Kasa app then reconnect repeatedly

my router sees them, but I have no idea if the router is noticing

using ping, I see them connected fairly solidly

had my phone change to a different wi-fi access point to make sure it wasn't an issue there

when trying to connect to them with home assistant, I get this error, even reset my password to make sure that was not the issue

Unable to authenticate: Device response did not match our challenge on ip 192.168.0.XX, check that your e-mail and password (both case-sensitive) are correct.

I have a working HS300 that has no issues, the app says all three are up to date on firmware. re-installed the app in case there was an issue there

are these defective and should I return them?

The display issue will be fixed in the upcoming app update.

 

Regarding Home Assistant issue, as it is not an officially supported third‑party platform, we are unfortunately unable to provide suggestions on this matter.

  @Wayne-TP any idea when the update is released? if it is not soon I need to return these before the return window closes and I have to find a different solution

I REALLY like the HS300's but if I cannot get the to progress so I can start troublehsooting them for 3rd party, I'll have to stop usign them

(yes, i know you cannot help with support for the 3rd party stuff)
