Smart Switch for Lamp (Floor Lamp/Desk Lamp/whatever)
This is a request for new hardware.
I have looked all over for a smart switch/plug that I can use to make a floor lamp into a smart device while PRESERVING the normal operation of an ordinary household lamp.
This is something that the Kasa HS200 and Kasa HS210 wall switches do quite well. No one in my house has to know anything about IoT or a phone app or WiFi or anything else technical to turn those lights on or off. They can turn them on or off in a simple, familiar, ordinary way. Smart plugs like the Kasa EP10 are at the wall, sometimes behind furniture and don't look like "switches" that a non-tech would recognize.
The ideal solution would replace the light socket with a smart socket that also functions in the "old-fashioned" way.
