Connected KP125 set up well in KASA app. Will not control my lamp. The lamp is an LED with low, medium, high settings. Lamp lights, but KASA will not turn it off. Set it up with the lamp off and it won't turn it on. Help?
The smart plug functions like a standard power outlet — it supplies electricity, but does not replace the lamp’s own controls. To understand its limit, consider how you normally operate your lamp when plugged into a regular outlet. If the lamp has a separate power button or brightness switch, then the smart plug cannot bypass it. In that case, you would still need to use the lamp’s physical controls to turn it on or adjust settings, even when the plug is supplying power.
