Smart Switch install problems

Trying to install the smart switch, HS200, version 2.
I can get the switch installed, I can connect it to the app, and I can turn it off and on in the app and hear it working in the switch as it clicks on or clicks off. The only problem, the lights don't turn on or off. They flicker at a very low level. When I press the switch they go full bright for a split second and then go back down to the low light flickering.
What am I missing here? It has to be in the wiring, right? By the way, I'm using the Erro system for mesh WiFi.
