Firmware Version: 1.5.5

I've had a switch turn on my living room lights for over a year with no problem.  Today, however, it will not turn on the lights either in the app or at the physical toggle switch.  The app shows the light as on and off but the lights don't come on.  The switch itself doesn't have any unusual flashing lights or anything.

 

I've updated the firmware on all of my switches and plugs.  This did not solve the problem. The above represents the current firmware version.

 

One thing I noticed is that, while the Kasa app recognizes the switch, Alexa says it's unresponsive.

 

I've also tried a reset.  I've deleted the plug from the app and re-added.  No luck

 

Does the switch itself need to be replaced?

Before determining if the switch is defective or not there are a few things we need to check.

 

1.  Does the switch report as local only in the Kasa App?

 

2.  Does the white circle light illuminate on the switch when turned off?

 

3. Does your router reconize the Switch as a device on the network?

 

4.  Does Alexa reconize any Kasa devices?

 

5.  Are the Bulbs good in the light source the switch controls?
