I have a TP-Link Kasa HS110 (UK) V1.0 smart plug that has stopped working for no obvious reason.

It's totally dead - No LED indicator lit, no power output from the socket. I used it to power on/off a 40 Watt lamp for less than a years use.

I have tested the power fuse in the HS110 with a continuity tester and it's fine.

This smart plug has since greyed out on the Kasa app.

Is there a known problem with some of the v1.0 smart plugs?  Is there a fix?

If the plug is not responding in any way be it simply plugging it back into the outlet then it may have died. The specs indicate the plug supporting 2.99 KW so the bulb should not be burning out the plug.

With a low current demand, I'm guessing it's unlikely an internal component would have burnt out and I'm guessing the smart plug must have over-current protection circuitry built-in, in the unlikely event. 

Can the smart plug be disassembled to diagnose the fault?

Is it possible to repair?

We don't have any information for self-repair, but our plug so comes with a manufacturer warranty.
