@Aravot  the KC400 has a microSD card slot and supports Local Storage, you can insert an SD card into it to store video recordings rather than subscribe to the Kasa Care.

I do have microSD card inserted but it doesn't record motion only 24/7 recording.

There is a message in the app "Please subscribe to a Kasa Care plan to save activity detection records."

My question was if all Kasa cameras require subscription to record motions?

This will determine if I should purchase Kasa camera or Eufy camera which it seems doesn't require subscription to records events.

I enabled the 24/7 recording and indeed in the playback timeline it shows recorded events in different color.

However I wished the camera could only record events so it would not fill i the microSD card.
