I have a "different" use case.  I want to use my smart plug with a sump pump to find out how often the pump runs.  I don't care about energy consumption per-se, just whether the pump is drawing power and when.  I'd like to be able to get the time-series data out for plotting in e.g., excel.

Has anyone done anything like this?  (I'm okay with writing code if that's what it takes.)

Bonus points:  I also want to completely disable the "control" feature.  It's a sump pump, I obvously never want to turn the outlet "off".
