Wall Switch Size & Wallplate Observations
Wall Switch Size & Wallplate Observations
I've installed several HS200 & HS210 Kasa Smart Switches in mine & my parent's houses. I love these switches. They are pretty easy to install and program.
My only issues are:
- In installations with both 2.4 & 5.0 Ghz networks, why do we need to turn off the 5.0 Ghz network to complete the initial connection of the app to the switch and turn it back on to connect the switch to the network.
- The physical size if the switch is quite a bit larger than a typical dumb switch and gets really tight in some installations because of the wiring load in the electrical box; especially if the slot used has a conduit feed near it. A little size reduction would be appreciated.
- The thickness of the switch front doesn't allow standard metal wallplates to snug up tight to the wall; especially in multi-gang instalations that mix smart and dumb switches.
