Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version: V12
Firmware Version: 1.2.25 Build 250314

What is the specific threshold for the C425 to stop charging via solar panel when connected properly on a bright, sunny afternoon? I have seen in other threads and discussions around here that solar charging will halt if the camera battery reaches approx. 80% or 90% charge. Is there a definitive answer as to exactly what that threshold is? And when, exactly, does solar charging resume? If it stops charging when the camera battery goes from, say, 79% to 80%, then does it restart when the battery drops down to 75% Or 70%? I would appreciate knowing as much detail as possible about this, to help with testing my setup (generic 5W solar panel connected to C425).

@Mikecron That's bizarre, why would it stop it at anything less than 100%? I have a C402 and C403 that both came with a 2.5W solar panel, and they charge all the way to 100%. One of them drops to 97% when there is a lot of activity, but will charge back up to 100% on a sunny day. Why would the other battery powered cameras be any different?

@C402Tapo, yeah it does seems very strange. My two C425 cams both seem to stop charging via solar when they reach 80%, give or take a few percentage points. I'm testing today to see if a cam that is 82% charged will begin to recharge when it drops into the high 70% range. But I'd really like to know from someone at TP-Link exactly how the camera software/firmware manages all this, with specific thresholds, etc.

@Mikecron You might try taking the camera indoors, hook up to USB/adapter and fully charge to 100%, then put it back outdoors connected to solar to see what happens. If you're unable to charge to 100% from electrical outlet then there's obviously a bigger issue.
