  @QuietAdmin

Did you try different backups with 'Config Only' or 'Config + UserData'?  I believe there are other posts where one worked and the other didn't.

Worst case there would be some value into spinning up a Linux Controller of the 5.7 variety (the 3 digit often differs between platforms) and restore to that.  Back that up, and then restore that to Linux 5.9.9.  If you think about it... it has to work, otherwise, how would anyone ever update the version of their controller.

I've got some time later...I'll spin up a new Docker 5.9.9 and restore from my OC200 5.7.6 and let you know.

  @d0ugmac1 hi

I tried a couple of permutations,  eg with /without user data.

I had already tried to spin up a 5.7 docker version to do the 5-7>5.9> import from oc200, but it complained that there was a 5.9 version already on that box (it wasn't running but the configurations clashed)

I can delete that container and then try your suggestion again, which is logical.

If you get a chance to try a trial migration and report back that would be most helpful. Thank you

You're not imagining things I have failed 3 different ways going from OC200 5.7 to Linux 5.9.  I had previously gone 5.7-> 5.8 ->5.9 Linux using the standard methodology.

Will try OC-> Linux in v5.7 later.

This was the error I got in the logs:

dd

If you are not averse to setting up the new Linux controller on a new IP in the same subnet as your current OC200, the I would set it up and use the 5.9.9 Site migration wizard, not the Controller migration.  This should work.

  @QuietAdmin

I had same scenario with same errors.

1) I downgraded Linux Omada Controller to 5.7.4 (or something)

2) migrated from OC200 to Linux Omada -> worked

3) Upgraded Linux Omada to 5.9.9

4) now waitin for 5.9.35 ;-)

  @kogan @d0ugmac1

Thanks both. This worked in the end.

Now, of course, neither the switch or the gateway support any of these new features :p

Thanks for all your help. Wish TP-L and their staff would be a) more upfront about a roadmap b) more helpful on the forums - this isn't a free software/open source toy thing, it's a real stack that should be properly supported.
