  @Fae I'm using the ER605 v2 2.1.4 beta. Based on the release notes of this beta firmware, the DNS cache is supposedly supported.

Sorry that I didn't notice that the ER605 v2 2.1.4 beta has supported the DNS cache.

Please allow me to confirm the issue you reported, so you get no internet access after you enable the DNS Cache, did you test the recently visited addresses on your clients and find that it is unreachable? Did you try to ping the domain names like www.google.com to check the connection further? Does the issue happen only once or have you tested one more time and find it can be reproduced steadily in your network? I'm reporting the issue to the support engineer for further investigation.

Hello @mtl_squirrel,

Would it use a user-provided certificate instead if one is provided under the relevant HTTPS section of the controller settings?

I'm afraid not, only self-signed TP-Link certificate is supported.

Regarding other questions, I'll try to provide an update soon after I get the info.

Do we know what authentication method(s) the built-in radius server is able to process?

Are PEAP or EAP-TLS supported? Thank you, and great update! @Fae

@mtl_squirrel

The Controller 5.12's Built-in Radius Server is able to process the following authentication methods:

  • For Omada EAP: SSID with WPA Enterprise, MAC-Based Authentication, Portal Radius Server.
  • For Omada Switch: 802.1X
  • For Omada Router: SSL VPN

WPA Enterprise supports PEAP and TTLS (TLS is not supported).

MAC-Based Authentication supports PAP.

802.1X supports PAP and EAP.

SSL VPN supports PAP and CHAP.

  @Fae Is there any plans to include MSP in the future updates for hardware controllers?

  @Fae

EAP 650 V1 no firmware updates ever?

Bought last July off Amazon noticed all other hardware versions have firmware available. Is v 1 marooned? No complaints yet but hope for regular firmware updates eventually.

I'm afraid there is no plan. The MSP is not supported for hardware controllers due to the hardware limitation.
