Parent control is not working at all.  Let's take instagram as an example.  I blocked it via the given list and I added it manully.  I see it as blocked in history (see picture) but on the device I can browse to Instagram just fine.  And yes, I removed the brower cache and I tried via a private browser session.  No cigar.

 

It never worked 100%, but now it does not work at all.

Hi, The current issue might be related to this post:

HomeCare Parental Control & QoS Suddenly Stopped Working

The latest firmware 1.6.2 has fixed this issue already and please refer to this link to upgrade the firmware first:

How to Update the Firmware of Deco--method 3 via upgrade tool.

Hi,

check whether the Virtual MAC address / Private Address feature is enabled on the controlled device,if so,please disable them

disable IPv6 and VPN on the controlled device

you could upgrade the firmware to the latest one

  @David-TP  Thank you for the update.  Unfortunately I cannot update the Deco that way, I get:

  @jakke91 The soluion concerning the faling update software was disabling all network cards execpt (in my case) the wifi adapter.
