Just updated to 5.13.22 and enabled 2FA, when trying to set it up the QR code would not scan in 2FAS or Google Authenticator and there is no option to copy the key into a service like Bitwarden (as mentioned above by pduchnovsky), this is worrying as it means I was locked out of my account.

Luckily, my phone's camera app was able to scan the QR code and was able to add the account to 2FAS and login again.

My controller (5.12.7 on a windows server) just altered me to an update to 5.13.22. I updated to that and two types of my EAP's then showed firmware upgrades available.

When attempting to upgrade from within the controller via the upgrade button, it comes back with "The file is invalid".

When attempting to update from within the controller for either device I get the following, please keep in mind I am not doing a manual upgrading by selecting a file, I'm picking the 'upgrade" up arrow seen at the far right of the picture above.

I had this issue in 5.12.7 as well with an EAP660 V1.  A "manual" upgrade from the controller  using config->manage device->custom upgrade using the downloaded firmware which was available also failed with "the file is invalid".

I was able to update the EAP660V1  by removing it from the controller, setting it up as a standalone, upgrading it from within the standalone web interface, then resetting it and re-adopting it from within the controller.  For this issue I put ticket TKID231102573

However the website firmwares listed for EAP225Outdoor V1 and EAP610Outdoor V1 do not list 5.1.1 or 1.2.3 respectively so no manual attempt from within the controller or in standalone mode can be attempted.

  @Hank21 Since this is still in the beta phase. Can you still make some minor changes in this update? I mean, for the alphanumeric voucher codes, can you include the option to choose between all-uppercase letters, all-lowercase letters, or mixed? It seems it just defaults to mixed. Thank you.

  @ceejaybassist

Not in Beta anymore, my controller prompted me to upgrade yesterday to 5.13.22, so I did

  @73blazer What was the build number you got? Is it the same with the build number from this beta firmware or any iterations?

  @73blazer

I was able to rectify my EAP's not updating from within the controller issue by updating my java. I was running Oracle Java 8 221, I updated to Oracle Java 8 391, Restarted the controller ensuring the java it was using was the 391, and then I was able to update the EAP's from within the controller.

It seems since 5.12 and above, EAP upgrades from within the controller require a java version somewhere above 8 221

Hi @pduchnovsky,

pduchnovsky wrote

also not sure if this is HW problem on my end but with this newest beta my OC200 is sluggish

Please refer to this Solution post to check whether the issue is the same as you are suffering.

pduchnovsky wrote

sometimes just starts re-adopting all devices, sending push notification to my phone about '8 devices connected' few times a day.

Is the issue reproducible for you consistently?

What is the frequency of this issue since you upgraded the OC200 to v5.13 Beta?
Does it affect the actual client network connection?

Have you tried reboot devices and check the physical connection?

Hi @Nezith, @pduchnovsky,

After confirming with the R&D team, they will try to optimize the 2FA Token can not be copied issue in subsequent versions, please keep an eye on the new controller version release (subscribe to this post) for an update.

Hello @73blazer

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

This issue has been reported to the Support team for further investigation, thanks for such detailed information you provided.

You may search it on the EN website to upgrade it currently.

Generally speaking, the official firmware and release note will be pushed to the Cloud first, then the TP-Link global "EN" website, and slightly later to the TP-Link local websites (usually 1-2 weeks delay or so).
