Problem with separating ports on switch
Hello,
I have TL-SG105E switch and I have the following problem. I want to separate my network devices so that specific devices can see only specific devices. The situation is like this:
The switch has 5 ports:
Port 1: Will be connected to the router, and can be essentially treated as ISP. Every other port should be able to communicate with this port.
Ports 2-4: Are ports where other devices are connected. Internet connectivity should be allowed for these devices so they should communicate with port 1. They can also see each other, that is not that much of a problem.
Port 5: Contains the management port of a server and should be ONLY visible for port 1 (and vice versa), not the other ports (with other devices).
I have tried this using 802.1Q VLANS by removing port 5 from VLAN 1 and creating VLAN XY with only port 1 and port 5. However, this was not working, since port 5 could not really see/access port 1 for some reason... Adding 802.1Q VLAN PVID of VLAN XY for port 5 also did not help.
Trying it the other way around, which is creating VLAN XY for ports 1-4 excluding port 5 (while still leaving it in VLAN 1 with port 1) was also without success...
It's possible that I am not fully grasping the workings of VLANS on this switch. So what am I doing wrong?
This switch does not seem to support Port Isolation or something like that so what else can I try to achieve the desired outcomes?
