VIGI model name confusion + Need some assurance
Noticed that some VIGI cameras look identical and even their specs look similar, but the model name has some difference and some of them has different hardware versions with different updated firmwares.
Just an example: VIGI C345 (V1) and VIGI Insight S345 (V1, V1.60). My only concern about VIGI surveillance system is that if I buy a large amount of cameras then suddenly TP-Link wishes to discontinue those models (Like what they do to their routers) and I get no new features and improvements but newer revisions get those features. It'll be definitely a loss project. (VIGI C345 (V1) is available in my area),
I'll definitely want to build a setup that'll work for at least 5-6 years without any issues and will get continuous improvement treatments from the company for at least 2-3 years before getting discontinued and not getting suddenly abandon.

Hi @1MSFT
Thanks for posting in our business forum.
LTSC, if you purchase a large amount of cameras, you should contact our sales team instead of asking for suggestions here.
Our local sales team can and develop customized firmware for a feature, and model if you place a bulk order.
About the hardware:
The practice has been explained by me somewhere in the router. The revision of a model is due to the major parts that are out of stock and we need to specify them by versions. It basically stays with the baseline performance of a model and its market position.
Common Questions About the Hardware Version and Firmware Update
A firmware update is not always required for a camera if it performs its function. And for business, adding features isn't important. Security and stability is.
And all the variants of our products focus on one aspect. It is rare to have a model that's all-around. As long it fits its purpose, like patrol mode on the VIGI C500 series, it does not get other fancy stuff on the camera image improvement. Features are mainly about notifications and other optimizations. Add some features if that is planned to be universal.
I would not recommend if you look for a frequent update on the new features/tech. The thing is that, the VIGI started up not long, and the iteration will continue(inevitably). High-end models would have a longer life span which is universal to almost all the products. If that's really important for you to get new features, consider a different brand. We usually keep 2 major and 4 minor updates a year, at least for the Omada.

Thanks for the explanation! @Clive_A
Actually I found another thread (InSight vs EasyCam) regarding model name confusion just after posting this. Also a KB (TP-Link VIGI Surveillance Naming Format) Should've searched for these earlier.
You meant InSight (S) --> High-end and EasyCam (C) --> Entry-level
Now, like I need to install the best one possible. My core setup is already VIGI NVR4032H, I searched for example, VIGI InSight S345 (V1) and VIGI C345 (V1), found both of them accurately the same from marketted specifications. Both of them should work accurately same to same without any difference regardless one of them labelled as high-end and another as entry-level. Right? (Asking from picture quality, 2-way audio quality and mostly AI features point of view)

Yep. I did not properly distinguish that by the OP order so that might be confusing. But you understand it correctly.

The new name of the insight and easy cam is just released, not long time ago. So I quickly uploaded that naming format in case anyone got confused.
They are the same. Like the TL-SG3000 switch changed to SG3000.
In essence, they just changed its name. We will no longer release any of the VIGI C300 or follow any of this format. Any of the VIGI products will be named after the new format.

So, no problem getting VIGI C345 instead of waiting for InSight S345 to get, right? If it's just a name change and not sudden discontinuation and end of support for VIGI C345, I'm OK with it. (The fact is that since I'm into VIGI and it is an ecosystem, I have to carefully take decisions so that all the devices work together and I can get most out from them)
