Hello there, when I activate IPv6 the access speed to sites and services using this protocol does not exceed 50 Mbps. When using only IPv4 the speed reaches 300+ Mbps. The Starlink router is switched to bypass mode (in router mode it also give speed like 300+ Mbps). I tried changing the settings - the result does not change. Who has encountered this and how can it be configured to leave Starlink in bypass mode? Below are screenshots of the IPv6 settings window

  @Cyero

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

"when I activate IPv6 the access speed to sites and services using this protocol does not exceed 50 Mbps"

Did it limit the internet bandwidth of both IPV6 and IPV4 to 50 Mbps?

As for the manual IPV6 DNS servers, did you save it when the Starlink router is in router mode?

-Would the speed make any difference if we use the auto DNS?

By the way, did you use a Starlink Gen 3 Satellite Dish?

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

I have Starlink gen3, yea. There is a limit of bandwidth speed only on IPv6, IPv4 works great. Manual DNS was configured only at Deco APP, if I change that to auto - nothing changes

Today I try a Starlink router in normal mode + Deco on AP mode - there are no limits

  @Cyero

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think you can try to clone the MAC address of the Starlink router on the Deco to see whether it helps:

How to Configure MAC Clone on Deco

I'll also consult the engineer to see whether there would be other possibilities.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

MAC cloning doesn't change nothing. There is still limited bandwidth on IPv6

a similar problem also occurs on equipment from ubiquity, but there it is solved by setting the length of the delegated prefix to /56, but in Deco this function is absent

@David-TP

also here you can see a difference between IP's which I get at both cases

  @Cyero

Just a thought, have you tried to change IPV6 internet settings "Get IPV6 address" from "auto" to "non address" to see if that makes a difference?

Cheers

  @klipse

when I choose "no address" Deco stops receiving ipv6 address from Starlink. he only gets it in mode "Auto" or "Statless".

  @Cyero

no worries, and for "assigned type" have you tried "DHCPv6" instead of "SLAAC+RDNSS"?

  @klipse

im trying all types already and the result always the same - 50 Mbps max speed.
I'm not sure but how I can understand the problem is that a Deco when get IP start to think that it's a /64 prefix, but must to be /56

when I turn off "Prefix Delegation" then connected devices stop accessing IPv6 resources altogether

I already thought that maybe the problem was on the Starlink side, but yesterday I tried the combination “Starlink in bypass mode + Mikrotik hAP ax3” - there were no problems, and the Internet speed was approximately the same, both with IPv4 and with IPv6

If Starlink provide /56 address then in graphic "IP Adress" also must be /56, right?
