Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi guys,

I am in the midst of planning a full Omada network upgrade for our office, which currently runs on just basic FTTC broadband with no management.

My planned set up is an ER605v2 routing going to a Jetstream TL-SG3452 as the "Main" switch, with an LS108GP PoE switch to plug an OC200 in via PoE

My main question is this:

Our connection currently requires a DSL/phone line cable and Our ISP router does not have any "bridge" or "modem only" mode. In the expert settings, it does allow for the disabling of DHCP Server and the firewall, and enabling of an "Exposed Host" function, with the ability to point traffic at a separate local IP4 address, which I assume should be the ER605 in this case.

My question is: will this workaround be enough to allow the traffic to route through to the TP link router without causing any potential connection issues or conflicts? Once our office's area gets an FTTP rollout we will be able to plug the router in directly in to the ONT and bypass our ISP router entirely, but until then it seems to be something we will have to live with.

  @Rapthorne

If it does not support the bridge mode, there isn't much we can do.

Appears to be working based on your description if the ISP modem got that function.

Seems to be enough.

  @Rapthorne

"Exposed Host" is vodafone-speak for "DMZ" and will usually function almost exactly like bridge mode by effectively opening all ports to the LAN IP you specify

A couple caveats

- if you are setting up your ER605 with any kind of VPNs to other sites make sure that the LAN IP range of the vodafone router is entirely different to any local/remote IP ranges you have

- Sometimes DMZ doesnt open up all ports (like 80,443 and some others) and you may need to set a manual port forward.  If DMZ doesnt work for you, try adding a port forward of TCP/UDP 1-65535 to the LAN IP of your ER605 as well.

Main: ER8411 x1, SG3428X x1, SG3452 x1, SG2428LP x1, SG3210 x1, SG2218P x1, SG2008P x3, ES208G x1, EAP650 x6 Remote: ER7206 v2 x1, ER605 v2 x3, SG2008P x2, EAP650 x2, ES205G x1 Controller: OC300
