Model: Tapo P110
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 230905 Rel. 152200

I have 5 Tapo P110 smart plugs and one no longer connects to WiFi.

The device still passes power, can be switched on and off physically using the button and the relay clicks fine. However the LED does not light up when operated manually suggesting an issue.

It no longer shows on my WiFi network and attempting a soft reset appears to fail. After 5 seconds the LED flashes green slowly for approx 3 seconds, then it flashes twice very quickly and goes off. It doesn't enter soft reset. The quick double flash feels like a sign that maybe the WiFi has failed but I'm hoping someone from Tapo can confirm this? Can this be fixed?

I haven't performed a hard reset yet because I'm hoping to find a fix that allows me to get my monitoring data before I wipe it.

Thanks.

Hi @Wayne-TP

Apologies for my late reply. I had to park this while I dealt with a few things.

I tried numerous things I had seen online to be able to do a soft reset but nothing was working. In the end I did a hard reset and that has restored the device to its full functionality.

While I have lost my prior data, the device is working just like it did out of the box. Connects to WiFi fine. Remote access works fine. Power usage logs are fine. I find it frustrating that I needed to go down the hard reset route but its better than shelling out for a new device!

Thanks for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Rich Haynes.

This light change isn't a normal LED state. Since you've confirmed that the smart plug is no longer connected to the WiFi network, i'm afraid the only option left now is a factory reset.

If the LED still doesn’t light up after the reset, or if it doesn’t change normally during the reset process (blinking green), this is already an indication that this device needs to be replaced. To proceed warranty, please contact the retailer or local TP-Link support

However, this issue might just be a malfunction of the product's LED indicator, and the device itself could still be operational. If you'd like to give it a try, add a new smart plug in the Tapo app, see if the configuration goes through.

Note: Depending on the version, the smart plug can be set up via WiFi or Bluetooth. If it uses Bluetooth, the device won’t have a default WiFi connection. You can try both methods to see if either one works.
