Friday
Model: Archer AX72
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 20250724

Trying to create an EasyMesh network on my AX72 (now that you've finally released the firmware upgrade for the RE700x with ethernet backhaul and Meshing) - and it tells me it can't do it and to make sure:

- At least one band is enabled and not hidden

-Wireless security is set to: WPA3-Personal+WPA2-PSK[AES], WPA2-PSK[AES], or WPA2-PSK[AES]+WPA-PSK[TKIP].

Neither 2.4GHz or 5GHz are disabled or hidden.
I have set security to WPA3-Personal+WPA2-PSK[AES].

It still won't let me do it.

Not to mention the terrible dark mode bug which I can't believe you've still not fixed with a hotfix.

Did AI write the firmware or something?

Hi,

So, when you attempt to add the RE700X to the AX72 via WPS as described, the RE700X will end up being being connected as a conventional Wi-Fi range extender, but not as an EasyMesh satellite? Or does it not connect at all?

By the way, I have an Archer AX53 V1 that also has this little bug that it tells you to "make sure security is set to WPA3-Personal+WPA2-PSK[AES],..." when in fact it is set to WPA3-Personal+WPA2-PSK[AES], but despite the router displaying this erroneous note, adding my RE as EasyMesh satellite works flawlessly.

Can't even set up the EasyMesh to start with because of that error.

Pardon me, if I don't understand correctly. But the "EasyMesh" feature of your AX72 must certainly have been activated successfully, as otherwise you wouldn't be able to see the notes about the WPS and wireless security you mentioned. And I assume you have also verified that "WPS" is enabled on the AX72.

Now all there would remain to do is to follow the instructions under "Follow the steps below:", that is, press the "WPS" button on the rear side of the AX72 (an LED on the AX72 should start blinking) and a couple of seconds later press the "WPS" button on the RE700X (also an LED should start blinking). A short while later both LEDs should turn solid. After that has happened you can then check whether an EasyMesh connection has been established between the two.

Sunday

  @woozle It's fine.

With Amazon's Same Day delivery, I bought hardware from another brand and it just worked as expected and no ambiguous instructions.

Easier than this back-and-forth.

Hi@WizPr ,

Welcome to our community!

Have you already returned your Archer AX72 to your retailer? If not, and you'd like faster assistance, you can contact your local support hotline.
For the EasyMesh Ethernet Backhaul configuration, we recommend resetting the satellite units before joining the network:

How to build an Ethernet Backhaul using TP-Link EasyMesh Range Extenders.

Of course, if you're no longer using the AX72, we also hope that you can find a suitable device.

You're always welcome to the community!

Best Regards.
