I have Archer NX200 and use it for 5G connectivity. Every time the device is unplugged (for example moved to different location in the house) the device it asks me to re-enter PIN for the SIM card (in TP-Link Tether app) to initiate mobile connectivity. Can I somehow force the device to remember the PIN code so that the connectivity would start immediately when the device is plugged?

 

At the moment I am not anywhere near the device and one of my parents unplugged the device. Now the plugged it again, in Tether app I see it as Cloud Device (Offline). How should I be able to insert the PIN code for the 5G connectivity? :)

 

Additional info: I have turned off WiFi on the device (I don't know it if stays turned off when device is restarted by unplugging) and I use Deco devices to create WiFi network in the house.

I see this issue being pointed out in several threads since 2013 that the PIN code is not memorized after power break.

Hi, welcome to the community.

SIM cards use a PIN code as a security measure to prevent unauthorized use of your mobile service and protect your personal data in case your phone is lost or stolen. 

Have you tested using this SIM card on the mobile phone to see whether it requires unlocking the PIN every time you restart the mobile phone?

 

It is also suggested to contact the SIM card provider to unlock the PIN code directly.

  @mitte-1000 I now see that there is an option to turn off PIN Code under Tether App → device → More → Pin Management → PIN Code. But as the description is so poorly written it is not possible to understand what this toggle actually does and what happens after power break :)

 

I can not test myself right now as I am not anywhere near the device. But it would be really lovely if after reset the device would automatically pick up cellular connection (as the SIM is inserted and no PIN required). If anybody can then please let me know if it requires any configuration after power break or it continues working seamlessly.
