Mobile Gaming Lag and Disconnections - Possible TP-Link App Conflict?

Hello everyone,

I'm experiencing significant lag and frequent disconnections while playing online games on my mobile phone. This issue only seems to happen when I'm connected to my home Wi-Fi network, which is managed by a TP-Link router. The problem disappears when I switch to mobile data.

This leads me to believe there might be a software conflict between the TP-Link management app (like Tether or Deco) and the games I'm playing. It seems like the app's features, such as QoS or parental controls, might be interfering with the game's connection.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? I'm looking for any advice or suggestions on how to configure the TP-Link app or router settings to resolve this without having to disable the app entirely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @ibrahimprak_dev ,

Welcome to our community.

What is the model number of your device? Please refer to

How to find the model number of your TP-Link device

How to find the hardware version on a TP-Link device

What specific online game are you playing that causes this latency and disconnection? Is your network connection stable for other online activities?

Also, what is the model and operating system of your phone? Have you tested other phones for comparison when playing the online game?

Here are some suggestions that may help you:

    1) Make sure the Router is properly placed; it should be put in an open area instead of inside a cabinet or shelf.
    2) Change the wireless channel to another one. You may refer to
Changing Channel and Channel Width on a TP-Link Router (new logo).
    3) Change channel width to avoid interference. For 2.4GHz wireless client devices, adjust the 2.4GHz channel width to 20MHz; for 5 GHz wireless client devices, adjust the 5GHz channel width to 80MHz or 40MHz, etc.
